Job Overview
Pete's RV Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Fixed Operations to lead the parts & service departments of our northeastern dealerships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations management and senior leadership, with a proven track record in driving process improvement and business development initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can negotiate effectively and manage multiple projects while fostering a culture of excellence. 

The ideal candidate will have experience managing service technicians, service writers and parts personnel in an automotive, marine or RV dealership.

Our northeastern territory consists of dealership locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Vermont. This position will require monthly/quarterly travel to each dealership.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains excellent CSI ratings (customer service index) at all dealerships
  • Fosters teams and team building initiatives
  • Oversees daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across all departments.
  • Develops and implements operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in project management initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Drives process improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and develop business development strategies.
  • Fosters a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional development among staff.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Drives profitability through increased sales, gross profit, P&L management, and labor cost control
  • Assists the warranty department with training and performance
  • Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of the service and parts department managers
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the service and parts departments

Experience

  • Proven experience in operations management with a focus on strategic planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated success in senior leadership roles, managing teams effectively while driving organizational change.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a commitment to fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Background in business development or related fields is preferred.
  • A track record of implementing process improvements that lead to measurable results.
