Summary:
The RV Certified Technician is
responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing recreational vehicles
(RVs) to manufacturer and company standards. This includes performing
maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and installing
or repairing components and accessories. The technician must hold valid RVTI/RVIA/RVDA
certification or an equivalent and maintain current knowledge of industry
standards and products.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections and diagnostics of RV
systems including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, propane, chassis, and body
components.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance according to
manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations.
- Install RV accessories and components such as awnings,
slide-outs, generators, and solar systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RV systems
including hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical components.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts
used, and customer interactions.
- Ensure work area is clean and organized and that tools
and equipment are in good working order.
- Comply with all dealership policies, safety standards,
and manufacturer requirements.
- Assist in training junior technicians and share
technical expertise as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the service advisor, parts
department, and customers regarding service needs and timelines.
Qualifications:
- RVIA/RVDA Certified Technician (Level 1, 2, 3, or
Master Tech preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in RV or automotive
repair
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting
skills
- Familiarity with RV systems: 12V, 110V, LP Gas,
plumbing, A/C, water heaters, etc.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various
positions (standing, kneeling, crawling)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
workmanship
Preferred
Skills:
- ASE certification or equivalent experience in
auto/truck repair
- Experience with diagnostic software and tools
- Customer service experience in a service or dealership
environment
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and
service manuals
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate or flat-rate pay based on
experience
